TOPIC for Discussion on SATURDAY/Sep 12, 2009

Define what intimacy is for you.

What areas of your life have more imtimacy?

& which areas have less?

This week's contemplation: The Healing Power of Touch

Intimacy - "into me see"

the dictionary defines it as -
1: close or warm friendship; [syn: {familiarity}, {closeness}]
2: a usually secretive or illicit sexual relationship [syn: {affair}, {affaire}, {liaison}, {involvement}, {amour}]
3: a feeling of being intimate and belonging together; [syn: {closeness}]

Wikipedia: Intimacy generally refers to the feeling of being in a close personal association and belonging together. It is a familiar and very close affective connection with another as a result of entering deeply or closely into relationship through knowledge and experience of the other. Genuine intimacy in human relationships requires dialogue, transparency, vulnerability and reciprocity.

As a verb intimate means to state or make known. The activity of intimating (making known) underpins the meanings of intimate when used as a noun and adjective. As a noun, an intimate is a person with whom we have a particularly close relationship.

Exercise: The fingers are big helpers for emotional balancing. When our emotions are harmonized, there is nothing going on except clear space and the breath.

Intructions:
1. Hold each finger for at least a minute or two while calling on YCReiki. This is done to harmonize & ground you.
2. Have pen & paper available & briefly record any sensations or insights you get as you hold each finger.
3. We will share this findings in session on Saturday. : )

What is your area of expertise?
Do you prefer to learn or do you prefer to teach?

This week's contemplation: How to Optimize & Empower Yourself & Others

Step 1 PICK YOUR AREA OF EXPERTISE - What do you do best? Where is your wealth of know-how? How best can you contribute?

Everyone has their own priorities. You can best be of service by matching what you have to what others are looking for. Because competition is prevalent and your reputation defines you, be sure to deliver on your claims. We are after all only as good as our word.

Step 2 DECIDE WHAT YOR LEARNING STYLE IS - Do you prefer to learn or to teach? Do you - listen? follow instructions? do it your way? participate fully? Do you - watch & learn? apply trial & error? cite the experts?

Gurudevi has told us repeatedly that one can not be a good leader if they have not been a good follower first. It is in learning each step that you get intimate knowledge and hands-on experience that reveals where improvements or adjustments may be necessary.

Step 3 DEFINE WHAT MOTIVATES YOU - What are your driving needs & wants? Are you pragmatic or practiced? Do you prefer what is useful or what is usable? Is your bottom line best practices or end results?

Check to see if you want to be right or would you rather be a contribution. It's more beneficial to have input that expands, rather than restricts. Do you often ask yourself why you are doing whatever it is you are doing?

Tips :
* THOUGHT & REFLECTION - clarify your process; be thorough in your research & data gathering; what drives you in your personality? environment? circumstance? belief?
* ISSUES & CHALLENGES - face them honestly & embrace all their aspects; step away from your attachments & allow different perspectives to unfold for you
* practice, Practice, PRACTICE PERFECT - learn from everything and everyone; acknowledge wins, losses & mistakes; do a lot, do it often, do it well

Notes:
- No thing & no one needs fixing.
- Practice gratitude - it's the key to fulfillment and joy.

Does your healing practice have a heart?

What is the heart of your healing practice?

This week's contemplation: THE MYSTICAL, METAPHYSICAL MESSIAH CHRIST

Jesus' teaching that we are gods (John 10:34) within God is a difficult teaching to understand given our present state of consciousness. Yet there is much support for this idea in ancient legends and myths. Around the world human mythology contains tales of ancient gods. Hindus, Egyptians, Chinese, Pacific Islands people, Incas, Mayans, Aztecs, Hopi, Algonquins, Norsemen, Greeks, Romans, and many others have legends of these ancient gods.

Edgar Cayce gave 181 readings on the topic of Christ Consciousness. In one of them (Cayce, 272-9) he teaches that we are all born with desires, abilities, weaknesses, and strengths, and find ourselves subject to hereditary influences that give our bodies strengths and weaknesses. We also find ourselves in circumstances and relationships that appear to challenge our weaknesses and demand our strengths.

But each of us must voluntarily choose "the Way". Nothing, no weakness, or desire, no circumstance or gene, is more powerful than our will. But we must choose to engage it, selecting that which is right, is just, is sincere, is honest in our activities with ourselves and others. Paradoxically, the way to escape from those things that beset us is not outside of us (a rich uncle, a new medical technique, a better companion, more money, and so on) but is within us.

Up for discussion this week among our YCReiki Teachers in Training

On Saturday, August 22

How does your everyday consciousness affect your healing practice?
How intimately do you know & understand your body?

We give thanks to Durga for sharing this week's contemplation with us!

As one enters the process of body work, it becomes critical to learn how to see in a new way. As an illustration, I would cite an example provided by Malidoma Some. Malidoma had been away from his village for a long time. At the age of three, he had been kidnapped and brought up in a Catholic boarding school. When he escaped and returned to his home nearly twenty years later, he wanted to get the light going all night. In the West African village where he was born, though the people didn't have electricity, they had ways of creating light at night if they wanted to. Still, at night they might say, "Let's turn the lights off so that we can see." When Malidoma wanted more light, he was told, "No, if we light the lamps, we won't be able to see." As the village elders explained it, you can't see anything real in the daylight. The only thing you see in the daylight is what you want to see. When you turn the lights off in the night, you see what wants to be seen, which is a whole different story.

It is very much the same way with our body. We need to turn off the light of what we think, or our diurnal consciousness. We need to descend into the night, the darkness that is our own body. When we do so, we discover that it is not neutral or dead, nor is it a space that is just simply there for our consumption and our use. Within the deep shadows of the body, within its darkness, we begin to discover a world that exists in its own right, quite apart from anything we may consciously think, expect, or want. We begin to find that the body has its own wants--in a sense, it wants to be seen on its own terms and within its own frame of reference. This can be a rather surprising discovery for many of us who, as modern people, are so very alienated from the body. We can't imagine the idea that the body might be a living force, a source of intelligence, wisdom, even something we might experience as possessing intention. We cannot conceive of the body as a subject. And yet, to carry out the body work, this is exactly what we need to do. . . .

The Maha Chant comes to a close

For those of you who tuned in to the most major event we have ever held at the Hermitage so far - you know what you got, no doubt.

Days before the Maha Chant began, we could feel the Shakti building as the Chant drew closer. This is an amazingly unique Chant given by the Hierarchy of Masters for our special intentions.

In their ever present wisdom and compassion the Masters knew we needed some assistance in order to accomplish more in the world so that we could be more present to our sadhana and support our Mission even better - to bless and heal Mother Earth and all her inhabitants.

So we all took hold of the Grace of Lord Shiva and chanted with all our hearts - Om Namah Shivaya Shivaya Shiva - with intention and unending gratitude.

We began at 10:00 a.m. on July 1, chanting ONSSS until 10:00 a.m. of July 4 - when we paused to sing patriotic songs in honor, respect, appreciation and love for our beloved United States of America.

Then we resumed ONSSS at 12:01 midnight on July 5 and chanted this until 10:00 a.m. on July 7 - when we paused to chant Sundari Saraswati Namo Namah in honor of Guru Purnima.

At 12:01 midnight on July 8 we resumed ONSSS until 10:00 a.m. on July 15.

It got pretty intense and we each got to process all our personal issues - big time. Releasing, releasing, resleasing. What a grand, amazing, evolutionary time it was for us all!

We are so very blessed to have this Path and all our Beloved Masters who guide and bless us with unending opportunities to receive Grace - and more Grace.

Chakra Balancing

balancing the chakras is a major achievement - with Yogin Christ Reiki™, this is what happens :

1. cleansing nadis & meridians - these are energy channels thruout the body; in acupuncture, ayurveda, natural, alternative & holistic healings this is what is treated to restore health & harmony

2. gathering the life energies - these are the Kriya currents (the system of our founder, Mahavatar Babaji) represented in the caduceus the symbol of medicine (the staff with a serpent inter-twined on either side of it); this is the ancient symbol of healing that represents the central channel (Sushumna) that connects from the base of the spine, the root chakra, to the top of our head or over it, the crown chakra; the serpents are the male/female flow (the solar & lunar; the Ida & Pingala; Shiva & Shakti) of life force (Prana - the inhalation & Apana - the exhalation) in us

3. descending & ascending these life energies - bringing it down from Source (the All Pervasive/ Solar/ Male Energy), thru the crown chakra, down the spine & all the chakras, thru the soles of our feet, into the crystalline core of Mother Earth (the Goddess Gaia/ Lunar/ Female Source); & then bringing it back up again - in a continuing eternal loop of infinity between Yin & Yang - from Source, thru us & back to Source; descending & ascending - drawing in & collecting more Universal Life Force to connect to, augment, accelerate, ascend & evolve our own life force

4. balancing all these different energies so they flow at optimized capacity - unblocked & in harmony & unified

5. raising this new-formed, unified energy & directing it into specific chakras & parts of the chakras - their core & petals - both positive & negative

better even, effectivity is not dependent on whether you know this or not - so long as you've been attuned to Yogin Christ Reiki™ - this is what occurs when you give or receive a chakra balancing
